Angel, soft pastel, 8x6”
In the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome, I saw a beautiful angel sculpted in marble. It was a holy water font. The angel’s face was so serene and peaceful. I marveled how stone could be sculpted to express so much “life”.
