The symmetry of the petals, where the contrast between light and the dark compliment each other, was the reason I had chosen this rose over all of the other flowers at the botanical gardens. This freshly bloomed rose with its warm glow represents youth and vitality. The materials used were a mixture of soft pastels and pastel pencils on velvet grey Strathmore paper.
