A 100% soft pastel study of the Sandia Mountains as seen from my back vista, interpreted in a colorful graphic style highlighting the rock fissures that resemble New Mexico's state culinary treasure, the chili pepper. The intense warm tones reflect the sunset on the mountains in early fall that give this majestic range its name, which is Native American for "Watermelon."
