I painted this pastel of Piccolo, our adopted Shih Tzu/Yorkshire terrier mix, who was my beloved emotional support animal throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He was my mother’s dog before he was mine and spent the last three of his 19 years of life with me and my husband after she passed on in 2019, just before the pandemic began. Who rescued whom?
