This is a painting of our cat Mozzie. He loves to take long, long naps and has the build of a big stuffed animal. He loves to lay on the newspaper and this piece shows him doing exactly that. Enjoying a lazy Sunday morning laying on top of the newspaper. If you haven't caught up on current events, you're out of luck.
This was created with a variety of pastels, hard to soft and back to hard for blending. I like to mix the pastels with other pastels instead of using a stump or blending tool. I think the colors remain fresh and bright in doing this. The secret is a light touch throughout the whole process and patience. The paper is Canson Mi-Teintes Moon Gray.
